Mihir Kumar Chakraborty is Adjunct Professor at the Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology – IIIT, New Delhi, and at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research – IISER, Calcutta, India, being also Visiting Professor in the School of Cognitive Science at the Jadavpur University. PhD in Functional Analysis at the Kalyani University, he is retired professor of the Mathematics Department at the University of Calcutta. He taught at the University of Burdwan and was Visiting Professor at the Indian Institute of Engineering Science & Technology, in Shibpur, and at the Indian Statistical Institute, in Calcutta. Currently he is Fellow of the Indian Institute of Advanced Studies (IIAS, Shimla), Fellow of the West Bengal Academy of Science and Technology (WBAST), Fellow of the Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR), Fellow of the International Rough Set Society (IRSS), and Life Member of the Calcutta Mathematics Society. His areas of interest are non-standard logics, fuzzy set theory, foundations of mathematics, mathematics and culture, logic of diagrams, functional analysis, topology, and knowledge representation.
